Three Psych Questions

3. I am not religious at all. I prefer to follow my own version of agnosticism. I don’t think my ethnicity has had any influence on me, nor has my gender. I have never been interested in sports and am not into violent anything. I supposed that growing up in Bergen County has made it hard to understand the plight of people in poor neighborhoods and poor countries, but volunteering at the food pantry does supply a nice balance.

5. I think that they are very responsible for who I am today. I am a very methodical, black-and-white kind of person, and that has certainly shaped me. People tend to behave irrationally under pressure, and in those instances, I find it really confusing at to what they want me to do. Also, I am not really religious and follow my own beliefs, and so I was never one to really just believe something blindly on faith alone. This has also shaped my personality, though not to the extent of my father, who needs to have all the facts before making any kind of decision.

6. I believe that these things play a minimal role. I believe that the number one thing that shapes a person’s personality is his experiences: where he grows up, who he lives with, who his friends are, how many siblings he has, what number child he is, what classes he takes, what shows and movies he watches, what books he reads, etc. We may be born with a few instinctive thoughts, but most of who we are comes from outside influence. Even our sense of right and wrong, our conscience, comes from other people tell us. Our earliest experiences shape us the most, and as time passes they affect us less and less, but they never entirely cease to do so.
